What type of information do we (8th World Congress on Ultrasound in Medical Education [WCUME]) collect?

The WCUME website may receive, collect and store any information you enter on our website or provide us in any other way. In addition, we collect the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet. We do NOT save the following information: login; e-mail address; password; computer and connection information and purchase history.

How do we (WCUME) collect information?

This site is hosted by WIX, and their cookies may tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page.

  1. The WCUME website is permitted to ask site visitors to submit personally identifiable information, such as their email address, name, telephone number or street address.

  2. The WCUME website is permitted to collect information automatically from a user's computer or other devices ("User Information").  User Information includes an IP address, which device type, operating system, and browser users are using, what kind of device they are using, and what path users have taken among specific pages on the university's websites.  It is used to assess how the university's websites are being used and how effective they are, including information on how easy it is to navigate the sites and to find specific kinds of information.

Tracking Behavior

The WCUME website is permitted to use Google Analytics and other technologies to track how users navigate our sites.  This data may not include personally identifiable information, although it may track a user's computer IP address. This information may be shared with Google or the providers of other tracking technologies but will not be used in Google's products or such other providers' products. 

 

Non-personal information

We collect non-personal for the following purposes:

  1. To provide and operate the Services;

  2. To provide our Users with ongoing customer assistance and technical support;

  3. To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred Non-personal Information, which we or our business partners may use to provide and improve our respective services; 

  4. To comply with any applicable laws and regulations.

 

How do we (WCUME) store, use, share and disclose the site visitors' personal information?

Our WCUME website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. We do not host transactions (no credit cards, no forms) that contain any personal information. Therefore, we do not collect any personal information. 

  • The WCUME website normally does not voluntarily disclose personally identifiable information to persons outside of the University.  Furthermore, certain student information is protected from disclosure by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).  Other information is protected by the university's Confidential Information Policy.

  • The WCUME website may disclose personally identifiable information collected from the WCUME website to third parties only as provided in this section.  Such information may be shared with third parties when required by law, such as Michigan's Freedom of Information Act, or in response to legal processes such as subpoenas and court orders.  In addition, personally identifiable information may be disclosed to third parties where the user consents to the disclosure. In no event, however, may a user's personally identifiable information be sold to third parties.

 

How do we (WCUME) communicate with your site visitors?

We may contact you if you email us to notify you to troubleshoot problems with content on our website. Otherwise, we do not host or maintain any personal information that would allow us to contact you.
